My expertise also extends to sexual, emotional and physical abuse related matters, especially concerning race, culture stigma and ethnicity, disability and sexual orientation. I have a specialty working with parents, to help provide psychoeducation, humanize and simplify how modifying/modeling your expectations, rules, and responses, elicit a more favorable reaction from your child, yielding results in their attainment of goal setting and problem solving skills. As an experienced therapist, I have a strong focus on disordered eating, addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and anxiety, or other mental health conditions. I enjoy working with an array specific diagnosis, conditions, or treatments such as but not limited to ODD, ADHD, Trauma, Depression, Anxiety and PTSD.
Therapeutic Approach
I possess a diverse set of techniques that are scientifically validated, such as engaging in conversation with you and instructing you on new methods of thinking and behaving, to attain desired emotions, thoughts and behaviors. Through Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we can explore how your thoughts influence your feelings and actions. CBT assists you in recognizing unproductive patterns and substituting them with more constructive alternatives. I enjoy working with behavioral therapies such as DBT, REBT, CBT, and also person centered counseling approaches.
